Dr. McLeod is the Theresa M. and Wayne M. Caygill M.D. Distinguished Chair and Professor and Chair in the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of California, San Francisco. Dr. McLeod’s clinical specialty is in refractive surgery, cornea and external disease, and his research interests include the study of improved strategies for diagnosis and management of eye infections both in the U.S. and in the developing world, as well as the development of advanced cataract and refractive surgery technology. Dr. McLeod is the Chair of the Ophthalmic Devices Panel of the Medical Devices Advisory Committee of the Food and Drug Administration, and is Editor-in-Chief for Ophthalmology, the official journal of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
Richard K. Parrish II MD

Richard K. Parrish II, MD is the Edward W. D. Norton, MD Chair in Ophthalmology at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. He is the Medical Director of the Glaucoma Service at the Anne Bates Leach Eye Center. He has served as the Co-Principal Investigator of the Ocular Hypertension Treatment Study (OHTS) and the Ocular Hypertension Treatment Study 20 Year Follow up. He was the Project Chairman of the Fluorouracil Filtering Surgery Study and the Principal Investigator of the Optic Disc Reading Center for the Collaborative Initial Glaucoma Treatment Study and the OHTS. He is the Editor in Chief of the American Journal of Ophthalmology and has made international ophthalmology an important priority for the AJO.
Marco Zarbin MD

Dr. Zarbin serves as Professor and Chair, The Institute of Ophthalmology and Visual Science, Rutgers-New Jersey Medical School, Rutgers University. J. Fernando Arevalo, a holder of MD, PhD, and FACS degrees, completed his medical and ophthalmology training in Caracas, Venezuela, before traveling to Bogota, Colombia where he completed a Retina & Vitreous fellowship, and the US where he completed fellowships in Retinal Diseases and Vitreo-retinal Surgery, Uveitis and Ocular Oncology. Dr. Arevalo returned to Venezuela, where he was appointed to the rank of Chairman of Ophthalmology at the Clinica Oftalmologica Centro Caracas in Caracas, Venezuela, and Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Los Andes, Merida, Venezuela. In 2011, Dr. Arevalo was invited by Johns Hopkins University (JHU) in Baltimore to work as a Professor of Ophthalmology and the Chief of the Retina Division of the King Khaled Eye Hospital (KKESH) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia for a four-year tenure (July 2011-15), followed by an appointment at the Wilmer Eye Institute as the Edmund F. and Virginia B. Ball Professor of Ophthalmology in the Retina Division, and an appointment as chief of ophthalmology at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center in 2015. With more than 900 publications (16 books, and more than 300 in MEDLINE), and numerous awards, Dr. Arevalo is a founder of study groups worldwide including the Pan-American Collaborative Retina Study Group (PACORES), he is a former President (2006-2008) of the Pan-American Retina and Vitreous Society (PRVS), and he is the current immediate Past-President (2017-2019) of the Pan-American Association of Ophthalmology (PAAO).
R.V. Paul Chan MD MSc MBA FACS

R.V. Paul Chan, MD, MSc, MBA is Chair of the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences, and the John H. Panton, MD Professor of Ophthalmology at the Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary, University of Illinois at Chicago. He is Co-Director of the Vitreoretinal Fellowship and serves as Director of the Pediatric Retina and Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP) Service. His clinical practice focuses on vitreoretinal surgery, with an expertise in pediatric retinal disease. Dr. Chan is a global leader in pediatric blindness prevention and ROP. His research focuses on utilizing new technology and imaging techniques to better evaluate and manage children with retinal disease. He is a core team member of the Imaging and Informatics for ROP consortium and leads the Global Education Network for ROP. He is on the Executive Committee for the Pan-American Association of Ophthalmology and serves as the Secretary for Global Alliances for the American Academy of Ophthalmology and Chair for the ROP committee of the International Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus Council.
Pravin Dugal MD

Pravin U. Dugel, MD is currently Executive Vice President and Chief Business and Strategy Officer of IvericBIO. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Columbia University in the City of New York. After Columbia, he attended UCLA School of Medicine. He completed his residency in ophthalmology at the USC Eye Institute, Keck School of Medicine. Thereafter, he completed his medical retina fellowship at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute and his surgical retina fellowship at the USC Eye Institute, where he was elected to serve on the faculty as the Resident Director. Dr. Dugel joined Retinal Consultants of Arizona in July 1994 and served as Managing Partner, Retinal Consultants of Arizona. Dr. Dugel has authored more than 200 papers, 35 book chapters and is on the Editorial Board of several major‐medical journals. Dr. Dugel is internationally recognized as a major clinical researcher and has been a primary investigator in over 100 multicenter clinical trials. His research and educational contributions earned him the prestigious Senior Honor Award from the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO). His board memberships include Chairman of the Subspecialty Day Board Chairman for the American Academy of Ophthalmology, as well as being on the Scientific Advisory Board of numerous companies, including Aerpio, Alcon, Digisight, Genentech, Novartis, Ophthotech, Opthea, Roche, and TrueVision.
