Dr. Paolo S. Silva is staff ophthalmologist and Chief of Telemedicine at the Beetham Eye Institute of the Joslin Diabetes Center. He is Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Silva’s work is focused on innovative and investigative work at a field that is at the intersection of clinical care and technology with the hope of providing an ideal model for the delivery of evidence based highly effective and efficient diabetes eye care to the population that needs it the most.Dr. Silva’s primary expertise lies in the fields of ocular telehealth for diabetic retinopathy, ultrawide field retinal imaging and electronic medical record review with over 104 scientific publications. His work and efforts have been recognized with more than 21 national and international awards that include Young Clinician Award from the Center for Integration of Medicine and Innovative Technology at Harvard Medical School and the Achievement Award from the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He has been most recently awarded by the UK Newton Fund and the Philippine Department of Science and Technology to evaluate cost-effective solutions for diabetic retinopathy evaluation in the Philippines.
Dr. Jorge Cuadros OD PhD

Dr. Jorge Cuadros is the founder of EyePACS, a program used for detecting diabetic retinopathy in over 1000 community health centers providing over 125,000 telemedicine based retinal exams per year. He leads the development and clinical collaboration for EyePACS to provide screening in diverse settings throughout the United States and internationally. He is co-author and co-editor of two books, “Teleophthalmology” and “Digital Teleretinal Screening”. He has conducted clinical trials on several innovative technologies, including several automated retinal image reading programs, several imaging devices, and primary care programs. His work is focused on expanding access to diabetic eye care in underserved communities. He is currently Assistant Clinical Professor and Director of Informatics Research at the University of California in Berkeley, Meredith Morgan Eye Center.After the live webinar, you will need to log into your CampusPAAO account and register for the webinar to be able to see the recordings.
