Ocular tuberculosis: our current perspective

Tuberculosis (TB) is an infectious disease can affect many organs, including the eye. Ocular TB can involve any part of the eye and can occur with or without evidence of systemic TB. 

Establishing the diagnosis of TB in an extra pulmonary focus is a clinical challenge. 

It has been an equally big challenge to derive management protocols for the same. Herewith, sharing our perspective of the understanding and management trends of Ocular TB.

Affiliations: Completed M.B.B.S. and M.S. Ophthalmology at Goa Medical College. Further trained in Phaco and Refractive Surgery under Rajiv Gandhi University. Pursued Retina and Uvea training at Aravind Eye Hospitals. Have multiple presentations and posters at National and State level conferences. Areas of special interest Uveitis, Neuro ophthalmology, Thyroid eye disease.
